In a pointed critique, Andhra Pradesh opposition leader and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of using gimmicks to mislead the public. Reddy cited the recent seaplane demonstration as an example of such tactics.
Reddy lambasted Naidu's long-standing claims of innovation in technology, such as cell phones and computers, as fantastical misrepresentations. He highlighted that seaplanes have been operational for over a century and noted similar short-lived attempts in Kerala and Gujarat.
Reddy queried why other states with ample water resources have not pursued such initiatives, hinting at underlying technical and safety issues. He urged the government to focus on tangible developments, like public ports and medical colleges, instead of engaging in what he termed 'publicity stunts'.
