Congress leader Mateen Ahmed, a five-time MLA from Seelampur, joined the AAP, inspired by Arvind Kejriwal's politics. His entry follows his son and daughter-in-law's switch. Meanwhile, Harsharan Singh Balli left AAP to rejoin BJP, criticizing Kejriwal's administration. Delhi Assembly elections are slated for February next year.

In a significant political development, Congress stalwart and five-time legislator from Seelampur, Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed, has affiliated himself with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This move echoes the recent transitions of his son and daughter-in-law to the AAP.
Ahmed's affiliation with AAP comes as a strategic shift attracted by the party's leader, Arvind Kejriwal's, distinctive political approach. "My commitment now lies solely in fortifying the AAP and serving the people fervently," Ahmed expressed.
Contrastingly, the AAP faced a setback as seasoned politician Harsharan Singh Balli exited the party to rejoin the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Balli criticized AAP for failing expectations and accused Kejriwal of leading Delhi into corruption.
