Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has raised serious allegations against the JMM, claiming the party is providing support to infiltrators in Jharkhand in exchange for their votes. Sarma, speaking at an election rally, asserted that this strategy is aimed at swaying the upcoming elections.

Sarma, also the BJP Jharkhand election co-incharge, stated that should the BJP come to power, it will prioritize the expulsion of infiltrators from the state. This strong stance was directed at JMM's Hemant Soren, who Sarma accused of manipulating the electoral landscape.

In a controversial statement, Sarma highlighted that infiltrators were marrying local women and taking over their land. He declared that the BJP would refuse to recognize the offspring of these unions as tribal, denying them certain statuses and certificates.
