On the first death anniversary of former minister Ashutosh Tandon, prominent BJP figures such as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commemorated his legacy on Saturday. Tandon, affectionately known as 'Gopal ji', served as a three-time MLA in Lucknow East, significantly contributing to the region.
Rajnath Singh highlighted Tandon's noteworthy simplicity and social dedication, emphasizing the profound void his passing has left in both party circles and among Lucknow's populace. 'His demise was an irreparable loss not only for the party but also the people of Lucknow,' Singh stated.
Yogi Adityanath reflected on Tandon's service as head of the medical and technical education department, where he propelled the development of institutions like SGPGI and RML. Despite battling cancer, Tandon remained a beacon of hope. The event, held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthaan, saw attendance from high-ranking BJP members, honoring Tandon's enduring legacy.
