Republicans on the Verge: U.S. House Control in Sight
Republicans are nearing control of the U.S. House of Representatives—crucial for President-elect Donald Trump to pursue his agenda. With votes from the November election still being counted, Republicans have won 212 seats and need six more for control, alongside their already acquired Senate majority.
On Saturday, Republicans stood on the brink of securing control over the U.S. House of Representatives, a decisive aspect for President-elect Donald Trump to further his presidential agenda upon his return to the White House in January.
Following the recent November general election, Republicans claimed 212 of the 435 seats in the House, according to projections by Edison Research. The projections, notably made on Friday night, confirmed that Republican Jeff Hurd retained enough votes to maintain GOP control in Colorado's 3rd congressional district.
With Trump's victory in the presidential race and legislative leverage in the Senate assured, Republicans aim to solidify their power by retaining the House. This would enable them to assertively drive forward key policies, including tax cuts, energy deregulation, and increased border security measures.
