Chairman Jagdambika Pal of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill has criticized Aam Aadmi Party's Sanjay Singh for his derisive remarks about the committee's operations, asserting that its efforts are being widely appreciated. The JPC is noted for actively involving opposition MPs in regular meetings and aims to engage with a broad audience before finalizing its report.

Jagdambika Pal stated that Singh's comments undermine parliamentary democracy and himself, highlighting the extensive deliberations held with active opposition participation. Pal emphasized the seriousness of the JPC's mission, which involves visiting various regions, including a current tour in the northeast, to understand public sentiment for a comprehensive resolution.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh criticized the JPC's study tour as a 'drama' and a diversion from pressing issues, questioning the quorum's integrity during a Guwahati tour. Singh accused the Modi government of avoiding substantive discussions, while the JPC targets submitting its report early in the forthcoming Winter Session of Parliament.
