Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, claimed significant strides in democracy and reduced terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. He criticized the National Conference for prioritizing the special status over regional integration, citing the tricolor's ceremony in Lal Chowk as a testament to newfound peace.
These remarks were delivered after a legislative resolution suggested reinstating Article 370's special status, a proposal firmly opposed by the BJP's 29 assembly lawmakers. Modi accused Pakistan of rallying international support for Article 370's restoration and criticized Congress for allegedly pushing Pakistan's narrative within the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
Modi highlighted the empowerment of Dalits post-independence, denouncing Congress and Pakistan's disapproval of these advancements. With Maharashtra Assembly elections approaching, he questioned voters to reassess their stance on Congress considering its recent actions. The BJP aims to maintain its influence following prior electoral wins where it secured a significant share of seats against rivals.
