The Bharatiya Janata Party's National Spokesperson, CR Kesavan, launched a scathing critique on Friday against the economic policies of Congress-ruled states, labeling their flagship programs as 'disastrous failship programs.' His remarks followed the announcement by Karnataka's government to review its 'Shakti' scheme, which provides free bus travel for women.
Kesavan attributed the economic woes of Congress-led states to what he termed the 'Khata Khat' economics championed by Rahul Gandhi. He pointed to a rising economic emergency in Himachal Pradesh, also ruled by Congress, citing flawed and reckless policies as key factors.
Furthermore, BJP Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya joined the chorus of criticism, accusing the Congress of deceiving voters with unrealistic promises during elections. In response, Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar defended the state's policy decisions, claiming that the 'Karnataka guarantee model' remained a source of pride and success for the region.
