Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) MP Supriya Sule asserted on Thursday that the Pawar family remains united, especially during the Diwali festival. Sule highlighted their tradition of celebrating Diwali together in Baramati, a political stronghold for the family.
Baramati is set to witness another intense electoral battle within the Pawar family as NCP leader Ajit Pawar gears up to face his nephew, Yugendra Pawar, son of Ajit's younger brother Shrinivas. In the recent 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Baramati was a battleground where Supriya Sule emerged victorious over Sunetra Pawar by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes.
Amidst talks of internal friendly fights in some seats within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), NCP chief Sharad Pawar assured that alliance partners will soon address the issue of multiple nominations from the alliance. Maharashtra's state elections are scheduled for November 20, with results due on November 23, sparking criticism from CPI General Secretary D Raja towards Congress over its seat-sharing strategies within the INDIA block.
