Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena (UBT) commented on Raj Thackeray's newfound support for the BJP, linking it to his son's electoral debut in the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Sanjay Raut of the Shiv Sena (UBT) has made assertions regarding Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's current political maneuvers. According to Raut, Thackeray's recent commendation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stems from concerns regarding his son, Amit Thackeray, who is contesting the assembly elections in Mahim, Mumbai.
Raj Thackeray indicated potential collaboration between his party and the BJP post-elections, asserting the next chief minister would hail from the BJP. This marks a notable shift, given his previous stance during the 2019 Lok Sabha, when he actively campaigned against the BJP. Raut remarked on Raj's overturned position, highlighting his son's candidacy as a precipitating factor.
The Mahim contest is heating up as the BJP supports Amit Thackeray, creating a triangular competition with Shiv Sena's Sadanand Sarvankar and Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Mahesh Sawant. The deadline for withdrawal is set for November 4, intensifying the political dynamic leading up to November 20.
