In a speech on Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini highlighted the monumental role Sardar Patel played in bringing together more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union. Saini described Patel's efforts as 'immense' and emphasized his significant impact on national unity and integrity.

Recognized as the 'Iron Man of India,' Patel was India's first home minister and is credited with laying the foundation of national unity. His birth anniversary on October 31 has been commemorated as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' or National Unity Day since 2014.

Saini praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the abrogation of Article 370, which fully integrated Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union, completing what he described as Patel's unfinished business for the nation.
