French Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Noel Barrot has urged for a peaceful process in the upcoming U.S. presidential election scheduled for next week, while admitting uncertainty about such an outcome.
In an interview with BFM TV, Barrot stated, "I hope it takes place in a peaceful manner, which does not appear to me to be entirely guaranteed," expressing concern about the potential for violence around the election and its possible impact on democracy.
Barrot further assured that France was prepared to cooperate with whoever wins the presidency, be it Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong international relationships.
