The upcoming by-elections in Rajasthan have attracted a total of 69 candidates, including 10 women, vying for seats across seven Assembly constituencies. This political battle, set for November 13, promises a diverse set of competitors.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan, initially, 94 hopefuls submitted their nominations by the deadline of October 25. However, the competition thinned after the withdrawal of ten candidates by Wednesday, with five others pulling out earlier. A scrutiny process on October 28 led to the cancellation of ten more candidacies.
The constituencies of Dausa and Khinvsar have the highest numbers of competitors, with 12 each, while Salumbar has the fewest at six. Other regions, such as Jhunjhunu and Chaurasi, host 11 and 10 contenders, respectively. The much-awaited results of this intense political contest will be announced on November 23.
