The ruling National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir has decided to boycott the Union Territory's foundation day celebrations on October 31, citing non-acceptance of the current status.

NC chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq emphasized that the party views the August 5, 2019, decision to bifurcate the former state as illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral, arguing for the prompt restoration of statehood.

Furthermore, the NC aims to restore the bi-annual Darbar move practice, linking it directly to the regaining of statehood, thereby resisting the current administrative structure.
