Raj Pakala, brother-in-law of K T Rama Rao, working president of BRS, faced police questioning on Wednesday over a case linked to a drug-related incident at his farmhouse. The police action followed a raid prompted by reports of unauthorized drug and liquor use during a party.
The Cyberabad Police and Excise officials conducted the raid at his Janwada farmhouse last week. The incident has embroiled Pakala in legal proceedings, invoking the NDPS Act and Telangana Gaming Act. Amidst these allegations, Pakala moved the Telangana High Court, claiming the case as a smear campaign.
The High Court temporarily restrained coercive action against Pakala, though it mandated his cooperation with ongoing investigations. Meanwhile, the affair has ignited political tensions between Telangana's ruling Congress and opposition BRS.
