In a significant political development ahead of the Rajasthan Assembly bypolls, former Dungarpur MLA Devendra Katara has returned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fold. Having previously served from 2013 to 2018, Katara had distanced himself from the party, but now he is back to contribute to its success.

Katara's return was marked by a formal welcome from the state party unit president, Madan Rathore. Rejoining the BJP, Katara stated his readiness to serve the party and dedicate his efforts to fortifying the BJP's position in Dungarpur.

The bypolls are scheduled for November 13 and will cover seven assembly seats, including the significant Chorasi constituency in Dungarpur where the BJP has fielded candidate Karilal Nanoma.
