Candidates Gear Up for First Phase of Jharkhand Polls

A rigorous scrutiny process has finalized 743 candidates for the first phase of Jharkhand's assembly elections, officials confirmed on Tuesday. Out of 805 aspirants, 62 were disqualified.
Voters in 43 assembly constituencies will cast their ballots on November 13. The nominations were filed between October 18 and 25, and scrutiny took place on Monday, a statement from the CEO's office revealed.
The elections will occur in two phases, concluding on November 20, with results announced on November 23. Barkagaon, Jamshedpur West, and Hatia saw the highest number of candidates, while Kharswan reported the fewest. The nomination process for the upcoming second phase is already underway, attracting 347 candidates so far.
