In a recent accusation, Karnataka Industries Minister M B Patil targeted the BJP, alleging they engaged in 'fake Hindu love' politics and spread misinformation during their rule. He pointed to notices served by the Waqf Board to farmers in Vijayapura from 2019 to 2022 as proof of the party's divisive politics.
Patil shared these documentations on social media, asserting that the BJP focused more on polarizing issues than on state development. Within these allegations, farmers claimed their lands had been classified as Waqf properties, raising concerns about land rights and ownership.
In response, BJP leaders, including Vijayendra, criticized the ruling Congress of attempting to divide the country along religious lines. They emphasized their support for farmers, promising legal assistance and setting up a team to address the Waqf issue in Vijayapura.
