BJP's Satyendra Nath Tiwari has officially entered the race for the Garhwa assembly seat, with Union minister Satish Chandra Dubey standing by his side. Tiwari is set to face off against Jharkhand minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur from JMM, who ousted Tiwari by over 23,000 votes in 2019.
Expressing optimism, Tiwari stated he anticipates an easy win this time, citing a lack of formidable challenges. He criticized Thakur, who serves as Jharkhand's drinking water and sanitation minister, accusing him of failing to serve the constituency effectively and being embroiled in corruption allegations.
The BJP's agenda for Jharkhand is ambitious, as Dubey suggested a sweeping victory akin to Haryana's. In a similar political maneuver, Kamlesh Singh from the BJP filed his papers for Hussainabad after leaving the Nationalist Congress Party. As Jharkhand's 81-member assembly heads for polls, candidates are gearing up for a two-phase election on November 13 and 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
