Zoramthanga, the president of the Mizo National Front (MNF), made a strong declaration against plans to hand over Lengpui Airport to the Indian Air Force (IAF). The remark came during the party's 63rd-anniversary celebration.
Zoramthanga underscored the importance of Lengpui Airport, stating it is vital for Mizoram's survival and acts as a critical link with other regions. He affirmed that the MNF would staunchly resist any such handover.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Lalduhoma mentioned that discussions on this issue are ongoing, with a committee evaluating the feasibility and potential impacts of transferring the airport.
