Congress Set to Finalize Candidates for Jharkhand Polls

The Congress Central Election Committee gathered on Monday to finalize candidates for the impending Jharkhand Assembly polls. Present at the meeting were key figures such as Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and former party chiefs Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
This assembly comes on the heels of a declaration by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, confirming that the INDIA bloc allies will contest the elections as a unified front, with Congress and JMM jointly fielding candidates in 70 out of the 81 seats.
As the Assembly polls approach, scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, seat-sharing discussions continue with partners like the RJD and Left parties for the remaining 11 seats. Meanwhile, nomination filings began on Friday for the 43 constituencies involved in the first phase.
