His remarks coincided with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Russia for the BRICS Summit.
Cameron emphasized the importance of recognizing Ukraine's sovereignty and independence in any mediation effort. He highlighted India's recent diplomatic engagement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a testament to its potential mediating role.
Cameron also advocated for expanding the UN Security Council to accommodate emerging powers like India, which he acknowledged as potentially the world's largest economy in the future. He noted India's increased involvement in international organizations like the Quad and G20.
