Crisis Intensifies: Deadly Strikes in Northern Gaza
Israeli strikes on northern Gaza have left at least 87 people dead or missing, complicating an already fragile situation amid ongoing conflict. Both Israel and Hamas show little interest in peace talks, while the U.S. investigates leaked documents on Israel's military plans against Iran. Internet outages hinder information flow.
Overnight strikes by Israel have resulted in the deaths or disappearances of at least 87 individuals in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the local Health Ministry. Among the wounded are 40 individuals from Beit Lahiya, one of the first towns targeted in Israel's ground invasion almost a year ago.
The escalation comes as the United States probes a leak of classified documents detailing Israeli plans to counter Iran's military actions. U.S. officials, speaking on anonymity, confirmed the documents' authenticity, which highlight Israel's preparations for a military response following Iran's missile attack on October 1.
The ongoing violence further complicates the call for a cease-fire from the United States, particularly after last week's assassination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Despite U.S. urging, neither party has shown interest in negotiations. Meanwhile, the situation for civilians in Gaza, already dire, worsens amid Internet outages and medical system strain.
