In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, former state minister Rajendra Shingne has rejoined the Sharad Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Shingne's return marks a turnaround after he left the faction last year to align with Ajit Pawar's NCP, which is allied with the ruling BJP-led coalition.
The reunion was marked by a formal welcome from Sharad Pawar and state NCP (Sharad Pawar) chief Jayant Patil. The event also saw the participation of recent NCP (Sharad Pawar) joiners, Harshvardhan Patil and Vijaysinh Mohite Patil.
Shingne, a prominent political figure from Sindkhedraja in eastern Maharashtra, boasts a significant political career as a five-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). His return to the Sharad Pawar faction is poised to impact the party's strategy in the upcoming elections.
