Madhya Pradesh has become a focal point of contention as Congress Chief Jitu Patwari criticizes the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government over an escalating drug crisis. Patwari's remarks came in the wake of a significant operation by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence that uncovered a factory producing Mephedrone illegally in Jhabua district.

Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, Patwari highlighted the severity of the drug issue, comparing it to 'Udta Punjab' and alleging that the problem is now greater in Madhya Pradesh. The DRI's operation led to the seizure of large quantities of Mephedrone and the arrest of four individuals, intensifying the political debate.

In addition to the drug crisis, Patwari called for the resignation of Home Minister Mohan Yadav, criticizing his handling of law and order issues, including a heinous crime involving the attempted murder of a molestation victim in Khandwa. This incident underscores the growing concerns of governance and safety in the state.
