The ongoing political standoff in Kerala has taken a dramatic turn as the Congress-led UDF opposition criticized Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's public altercation. The opposition termed the escalating tensions as mere 'drama,' forecasting that both parties will eventually strike a compromise.
Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan accused the Governor and the Left party of collaborating to breach laws. He criticized the recent ordinance signed by Khan despite an ongoing assembly session, citing it as evidence of their mutual legal infractions. Satheesan referenced Khan's previous remarks about the chief secretary seeking his assent unauthorized by the Chief Minister.
Tensions flared further when Governor Khan accused CM Vijayan of withholding information on 'crimes against the nation.' CPI(M) leaders, including M V Govindan and A K Balan, retaliated, dismissing Khan's allegations as baseless and labeling him a 'caretaker Governor' acting against constitutional norms.
