An emotional video of Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda has circulated widely on social media, mistakenly linked to the recent Haryana Assembly poll results. Social media users falsely asserted that Hooda was tearful over the election outcome.
However, an investigation by the PTI Fact Check Desk has debunked this claim. The 18-second footage actually dates back to June 2024, capturing Hooda's emotional reaction after winning the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat by over 300,000 votes. A substantial crowd gathered at his residence, which moved him to tears.
This revelation came after a thorough reverse-search of the video's keyframes, which led investigators to an extended version of the footage on 'Karnal Breaking News'. A similar report by DNA Hindi confirmed the victory context. PTI emphasizes that this viral video is unrelated to the 2023 Haryana poll results.
