In a rapidly escalating confrontation, North Korea has accused South Korea of deploying drones over its capital to distribute anti-North Korean propaganda leaflets, sparking threats of retaliatory action.
According to a statement by North Korea's Foreign Ministry on Friday, the alleged drone activities occurred on October 3 and continued through Wednesday and Thursday of the same week. The ministry condemned the acts as a breach of North Korea's 'sacred' sovereignty.
Furthermore, it warned that any repetition of such activities would result in an unannounced military response. These developments come amid a backdrop of rising tensions between the Koreas, driven by North Korea's weapons testing and South Korea's bolstered military exercises alongside the United States.
