Congress MLAs Convene to Elect Leader in J&K Assembly
The Congress MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir held a meeting to elect their leader. The meeting, located at the party headquarters on M A Road, included six newly elected leaders. After the leader is chosen, Congress will provide support letters to its ally, the National Conference.

The Congress MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir gathered on Friday for a pivotal meeting to elect their legislature party leader in the state's assembly. Six newly elected members convened at the party headquarters on M A Road, marking a significant event in the region's political landscape.
Among notable attendees were party state president Tariq Hameed Karra and general secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir, alongside Nizamuddin Bhat, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Irfan Hafeez Lone, and Iftikar Ahmad. While Ahmad represented the Jammu region, the others were elected from the Kashmir valley.
Following the election of their leader, Congress plans to present letters of support to the National Conference (NC), an alliance partner led by Omar Abdullah, who serves as its legislature party leader and former chief minister.
