Strengthening Ties: Modi Meets with Japan's Ishiba and New Zealand's Luxon

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in significant meetings with Japan's newly-appointed Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. The talks took place during the ASEAN-India Summit in Vientiane, Laos.
During his interaction with Ishiba, Prime Minister Modi congratulated him on his new role and expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in infrastructure, connectivity, and defence, as well as boosting cultural ties. The meeting underscored India's commitment to its strategic partnership with Japan across various sectors, including technology and trade.
Separately, Prime Minister Modi's meeting with New Zealand's Christopher Luxon marked their first formal interaction. They discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in economic sectors, education, and innovation. The discussions also touched on trade, renewable energy, and agriculture, with a view to further strengthening the Indo-New Zealand partnership.
