In a scathing critique, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami accused the DMK government of fostering false hopes regarding the abolition of NEET, leading to tragic student suicides. He condemned the government's failure to fulfill its promises and questioned the efficacy of its signature campaign.
Palaniswami emphasized the ruling party's history, pointing out their involvement in the 2010 introduction of NEET while they were part of the Congress-led UPA government. He described the current actions of the DMK as a mere 'drama' without tangible results.
Visiting the home of a 19-year-old NEET aspirant who died by suicide, Palaniswami paid respects and reiterated his claims to reporters, insisting the DMK government has not brought any meaningful change or relief on the NEET issue, thereby deceiving youth and students.
