In a pointed critique, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has taken aim at Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut for his recent comments on the Ladli Behna Yojana. Scindia called on the women of Madhya Pradesh to respond robustly, defending the scheme as a tool for female empowerment across the state.
Challenging Raut's assertions, Scindia expressed confusion over his apparent jealousy and highlighted that the initiative has also been launched in Maharashtra with success, having already reached four installments. He suggested the scheme could potentially benefit Raut's own family.
The debate arises as Sanjay Raut labeled the scheme a political gimmick, claiming economic collapse in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Scindia supported the Modi-led cabinet's decision to continue the supply of fortified rice under welfare programs until 2028, citing health benefits for all Indians.
