In a significant political development, Omar Abdullah has extended his gratitude to the National Conference (NC) legislators for choosing him as their leader, paving the way for him to claim leadership in Jammu and Kashmir.
Abdullah revealed that, following his election as the leader of the NC legislature party, four of the seven Independent MLAs offered their support, increasing the party's tally to 46 members in the Assembly.
In the aftermath of the recent Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, where the NC emerged as the largest party by securing 42 seats, Abdullah mentioned ongoing discussions with Congress, who have been given a day to decide on extending their support.
