The scheduled summit of Ukraine's allies in Ramstein, Germany, has been postponed following U.S. President Joe Biden's cancellation of his overseas trip. A highly anticipated summit of Ukraine's key allies in Ramstein, Germany, has been postponed after U.S. President Joe Biden canceled his overseas trip, organizers revealed on Wednesday. The summit aimed to strengthen support for Kyiv amid ongoing tensions with Russia.

Initially scheduled for October 12, 2024, the event, intended to be the highest-level meeting yet among Ukraine's arms donors, has been delayed. Announcements about future Ukraine Defence Contact Group meetings will be forthcoming, according to the U.S. public affairs office at Ramstein Air Base.

Biden's trip cancellation was attributed to the need to oversee preparations for Hurricane Milton and the response to a previous hurricane. Polish President Andrzej Duda's adviser confirmed the cancellation would also affect his travel plans. The delay doesn't signal a decrease in the importance of supporting Ukraine, as emphasized by foreign policy experts.
