Nayab Singh Saini, the prospective Chief Minister of Haryana, convened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting on the BJP's impressive victory in the state assembly elections.
The BJP had previously expressed its preference for Saini, of the Other Backward Classes, to succeed Manohar Lal Khattar should they secure a win.
Saini asserted to reporters post-meeting that the triumph was largely attributable to Modi's policies, despite Congress being previously favored to win.
In response to Congress raising concerns about EVMs, Saini dismissed them as deceitful narratives formed by the opposition.
Modi took to social media, extending congratulations to Saini and expressing optimism of Haryana's significant role in advancing a 'viksit Bharat'.
The BJP achieved a remarkable third consecutive victory in the Haryana elections, effectively curtailing Congress' ambitions for a political resurgence.
The results show the BJP secured 48 seats, 11 more than the Congress, while other parties including JJP, AAP, and INLD were either defeated or significantly marginalized.
