DK Suresh, the brother of Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and former Congress MP DK Shivakumar, addressed the media on Wednesday, attributing Congress's underperformance in the Haryana assembly elections to overconfidence. He emphasized the need for introspection within the party to understand the causes behind their electoral loss.
Speaking on the results, which saw the BJP capture 48 seats out of 90, Suresh stated, 'Yes, it is a setback for us in Haryana. Our high command is thoroughly examining the factors that led to this outcome, acknowledging that overconfidence was a major drawback.'
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge described the results as 'unexpected' and announced that a comprehensive response would be released after gathering insights from the party's ground workers. Despite the setback, Kharge thanked Haryana voters for their support, reaffirming the party's continued fight against 'dictatorship.'
