Global Observers to Monitor Sri Lanka's Crucial Elections

The Sri Lankan Election Commission has confirmed the participation of observers from eight nations to ensure the integrity of the upcoming general election scheduled for November 14. This international presence includes representatives from Russia, the Commonwealth, the European Union, and other regional countries.
According to R M A L Ratnayake, the commission's chairman, these observers will provide vital oversight during the election proceedings. Sources from NewsFirst.lk reveal that participants from the Asian Network for Free Elections will also be present to monitor activities, similar to arrangements during last month's Presidential election.
Simultaneously, major political parties are in the process of candidate selection and coalition-building, as the deadline for filing nominations looms on October 11.
