In a significant move marking the presidential battleground, Arizona commenced early in-person voting on Wednesday. This makes it the first state to allow residents to cast ballots ahead of Election Day at traditional polling locations.
With the onset of voting, Arizona is also witnessing visits from presidential campaigns. Both vice presidential nominees are holding events in Tucson, while Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump plan rallies in Phoenix and Prescott Valley, respectively.
The 2020 election in Arizona was narrowly won by President Joe Biden, triggering persistent misinformation and harassment of election workers. These concerns have pushed for increased security, with some counties facing challenges in providing polling locations. Meanwhile, early voting continues to be a popular choice in the state.
