In a tightly contested election battle, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) retained power with a narrow vote share margin over the Congress, achieving a historic third consecutive government in the state.
The BJP garnered 39.94% of the votes compared to Congress's 39.09%, despite both parties improving their previous vote shares significantly, with Congress seeing a notable jump.
Although Congress was projected to win by many exit polls, the BJP ultimately secured 48 seats in the 90-member Assembly. Smaller parties and independents found limited success, and the results come ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
