The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cemented its position in Haryana's political landscape by winning 48 out of 90 seats in the recent Assembly election, allowing the party to form its third successive government in the state. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his congratulations to Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, acknowledging the support of the electorate and party workers in establishing what he termed a 'double-engine government' under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While the BJP claimed a decisive victory, the Congress secured 37 seats, followed by the Indian National Lok Dal with two seats, and three seats won by Independent candidates. As political dynamics shifted in Haryana, attention turned to the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections. Here, the BJP made significant inroads, winning 29 seats. However, the National Conference and Congress alliance outperformed, claiming a majority with 48 seats - 42 for the National Conference and six for the Congress. Mehbooba Mufti's People's Democratic Party (PDP) managed just three seats.

In Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the gains achieved under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, citing decreased violence and increased stability post-abrogation of Article 370. The Aam Aadmi Party also marked its presence by winning the Handwara constituency, signaling a dynamic shift in the region's political milieu.
