Congress-NC Alliance Triumphs in Jammu & Kashmir, Faces Challenges in Haryana

Jubilant scenes have emerged from Jammu and Kashmir as Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge, extended his gratitude towards the region's populace following a significant victory. The Congress-National Conference (NC) coalition surpassed the halfway mark in the assembly elections, thus securing a position to form a new government.
According to data from the Election Commission of India, the Congress-NC alliance clinched 49 out of 90 seats, with the National Conference securing 42 seats, the Indian National Congress obtaining 6 seats, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) bagging 1 seat. Kharge also lauded NC leaders Farooq and Omar Abdullah for their victory.
Kharge criticized the 'anti-people policies' of the BJP, asserting that the coalition stands committed to protecting the citizens' well-being and constitutional rights. Meanwhile, the unexpected results in Haryana, with BJP winning an absolute majority, prompted Kharge to promise a detailed analysis after consulting with ground workers.
