In a political showdown in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to secure its third consecutive government, leaving the opposition Congress party flummoxed. Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed disbelief at the assembly results, labeling them 'surprising' and pledging to approach the Election Commission with grievances.
The Congress party, adamant in its rejection of the election outcome, described the results as 'totally unexpected' and 'against ground reality.' Suggestions of a fragmented INDIA bloc were also addressed, with Hooda noting that while offers for alliances were extended to certain parties like the Aam Aadmi Party, these partnerships did not materialize.
Despite internal differences, Hooda affirmed Congress's unity, dismissing any accusations of schisms within the party. He criticized BJP's handling of the election, questioning the integrity of the electoral process and the uncommon battery discrepancies in EVMs. As BJP celebrates its electoral success, Congress is poised to capture 37 of the 90 assembly seats, reflecting on the stark contrast against BJP's projected 48 seat win in Haryana's assembly elections.
