PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has called on the central government to heed the clear mandate of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections and refrain from meddling in the affairs of the new National Conference-Congress government.
Speaking to reporters, Mufti extended her congratulations to the winning coalition and vowed that her party, the PDP, would adopt the role of a constructive opposition to address the ongoing issues in the region. The former chief minister praised the electorate for favoring stability following the events of August 2019.
Mufti criticized potential interference by the center, warning of disastrous consequences. She also addressed the PDP's poor performance in the polls, maintaining that the party, despite setbacks, remains a viable political force with a vision unmatched by others.
