Internal strife erupted within the Congress on Tuesday after its unsuccessful bid to regain power in Haryana after ten years. Senior party leader Kumari Selja urged the high command to assess reasons for the disappointing electoral results and identify those at fault.
The BJP is set to govern for a third consecutive term, having surmounted anti-incumbency and the setback experienced in the Lok Sabha polls when its tally decreased from 10 seats in 2019 to five.
Ahead of the final results, discontent was visible within Congress ranks. Veteran leader Kumari Selja, marginalized during the election effectively led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, stated it would not be 'business as usual' and advocated for serious reflection.
