In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers commenced celebrations following as the party took decisive leads in the Haryana Assembly elections on Tuesday. Jubilant supporters were seen making jalebis and bursting firecrackers outside the party office, marking BJP's third consecutive triumph in the state.
The election for Haryana's 90 Assembly seats occurred on Saturday, October 5. Despite exit polls predicting a strong showing for Congress, the latest data from the Election Commission of India (ECI) as of 5:00 pm revealed BJP's significant gains, securing 29 seats and leading in an additional 20. In contrast, the Congress party held 28 seats and led in eight, while two independent candidates emerged victorious.
In Haryana's Jind, BJP workers celebrated Krishan Middha's victory in the constituency, where he won by a margin of 15,860 votes against Congress's Mahavir Gupta. Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini clinched a win from the Ladwa Assembly constituency with a margin of 16,054 votes, triumphing over Congress's Mewa Singh and independent candidate Vikramjeet Singh Cheema. Saini expressed gratitude to the 2.80 crore citizens of Haryana, attributing the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
