The electoral landscape saw a major shift as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a remarkable win in Haryana, while the National Conference-Congress coalition prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir. Voters have bestowed the ruling party with an impressive mandate as ballot counting revealed unexpected results on Tuesday.
According to the Election Commission, the BJP emerged victorious in 31 seats, leading in 18 more. In contrast, the Congress won 30 seats, leading in 6, marking a tough day for the opposition in Haryana. The Jammu and Kashmir elections witnessed a decisive rejection of separatist parties, bolstering the National Conference's standing.
Meanwhile, notable victories included Shagun Parihar from the BJP, winning the Kishtwar seat, and Congress's Vinesh Phogat clinching a win in Julana. These results underscore the political shifts underway, reaffirming the BJP's influence and posing challenges for the Congress.
