Authorities have charged former prime minister Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a fresh criminal case. The accusations stem from the alleged murder attempt on a police constable during a party protest, which resulted in the constable's death over the weekend.
The case has been registered under serious offenses, including arson, assault on state personnel, and anti-terrorism laws. Demonstrations led by Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf culminated in violent clashes, leaving several injured and escalating tensions nationwide.
Khan, detained for more than a year in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, called for continued protests demanding his release. The unrest has ignited further accusations against him and his supporters, cementing their legal troubles amid a charged political atmosphere.
