A meeting between former Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Odisha Governor Raghubar Das took place last week, igniting political speculation amidst Das's rumored return to politics in Jharkhand. However, Naidu's office clarified on Friday that no political issues were discussed.

The interaction, held on September 27 and also attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, was dubbed a courtesy call in a stern post on X by Naidu's office, amidst accusations of political maneuvering at the Raj Bhavan ahead of Jharkhand elections.

The post emphasized that it was unjust to drag Naidu’s office into controversy, highlighting that his visit was pre-planned for an academic event, and meeting dignitaries was customary. Critics argue the governor's residence is being used as a political 'war room' by the BJP.
