In a dramatic political confrontation, BJP activists took to the streets of Delhi on Thursday, protesting against what they termed 'pothole-laden' roads managed by the AAP government. They symbolically placed cut-outs of AAP leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in potholes while chanting slogans against the ruling administration.
Organized under the 'Pol-Khol' campaign, demonstrations occurred at 60 locations citywide, including prominent areas like Church Road and Khari Baoli. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused the AAP government of incompetence and corruption, citing poor road conditions as evidence. Leading figures like Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Manoj Tiwari participated actively in their respective constituencies.
The AAP, maintaining its stance, accused the BJP of misinformation and obstruction, stating that repair works are ongoing and being closely supervised by the Chief Minister. Despite BJP's allegations of neglect, AAP insists that efforts are being made to bring visible improvements in road infrastructure, aiming for completion by Diwali.
