Dubai, Oct 1 (AP) – Iran has launched dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel, as announced in a statement read aloud on state television.
The announcement coincided with air raid sirens sounding and reports of explosions in multiple locations, including Tel Aviv and near Jerusalem.
The statement warned that Israel would face a harsher response if it retaliated. It referenced the recent killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Revolutionary Guard Gen. Abbas Nilforushan by Israeli airstrikes, as well as the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. It indicated that this was only the 'first wave' of attacks.
